River Mill Condos Groundbreaking repeats History

History repeats itself as Tricar launches River Mill Condominiums

Will history repeat itself? Yes, says The Tricar Group at the May 28 groundbreaking of River Mill Condominiums, only 500 feet from its phenomenally successful RiverHouse.

Honorable Mayor Farbridge, City Councilors, City staff, and local business people were on hand as The Tricar Group officially broke ground for construction on this 18-storey condominium project in the downtown core, just steps from walking trails and the River Run Centre.

Looking forward to another economic boost to downtown, Guelph Mayor, Karen Farbridge, addressed the guests that included members of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce and Guelph Downtown Business Association. “This is another instrumental action in reinforcing the vibrancy of downtown and the ability of projects like these to provide jobs and increase employment. This will lead to upgraded services as well as increased patronage to the local restaurants and the infrastructure of the city.”

Adam Carapella, Vice-President of The Tricar Group, shared the credit for bringing River Mill to this moment. “The group of people here today, each made a contribution and helped shape this development in some way shape or form,” he said. “Tricar appreciates everyone’s contributions and support.”

The Tricar Group was overwhelmed with the response and attendance. “It’s phenomenal to see so many city officials show their support for this project,” says Joe Carapella, Tricar president.

Many prominent sites in Guelph’s history were adjacent to the location of the groundbreaking including; one of the first mills that helped establish Guelph as a mill town and was a catalyst to its present economic growth, and the site of the City’s first schoolhouse. River Mill is only the second high rise condominium development approved in the City’s core, next to Riverhouse, both being developed by The Tricar Group. Based out of London, The Tricar Group is southwestern Ontario’s largest condominium builder/developer.

RiverHouse was one of the most revered and acclaimed developments to enter the Guelph market in recent years. It was a breakout project for Tricar as the first high-rise in downtown Guelph, selling out of 130 suites in just eight months. “Sales were overwhelming,” reports Karen Kessel of Planet Realty Inc. which is selling both projects for Tricar.

River Mill is a snapshot of classic and contemporary design with an 18-storey tower that extends out into a six-storey podium that offers an open-air rooftop terrace for residents. It will be comprised of 141 luxury condominium suites.  Suites on higher floors will offer expansive terraces. Lifestyle and recreational facilities for residents will include multiple terraces, lounges, fitness room, guest suite and more.

Tricar will hold an exclusive preview opening on Tuesday June 10 from 5-9 p.m. when sales will begin, at the River Mill Presentation Center at the Old Quebec Street Mall, Main Level, 55 Wyndham Street N., Guelph. For more information, Register on-line at www.tricar.com/rivermill
